Rugged Touchscreens for High-Threat Environments
SecureTouch™ touchscreens provide rugged yet responsive touch performance for a
variety of demanding public access applications, including:
- Bank ATMs
- Ticketing machines
- Kiosks
- Interactive pay phones
- Gaming equipment
Flat SecureTouch products are made of tough, break-resistant glass that inhibits
vandalism while providing a fast response to a light touch. Incorporating the solid-glass
and coating-free construction of Elo’s proven IntelliTouch technology, they withstand
scratches, abrasions, and impact that would disable other touchscreens.
Durability
SecureTouch touchscreens are stronger and more versatile than their bonded
counterparts. Test results show that SecureTouch touchscreens easily exceed the
specifications of the UL-1950 Ball Drop Test (repeated impact from a 0.54-kilogram steel
ball dropped from a height of 51.5 inches) without breaking. Since SecureTouch is not
bonded to the cathode ray tube, monitor replacement is quick and easy.
Choice of Thickness
SecureTouch touchscreens are available in either 0.25 inch (6 mm) or 0.50 inch (12 mm)
thickness to provide the strength and security appropriate to your application. For
ultimate protection in high-threat applications, the 0.50-inch touchscreen is the
strongest available. For less threatening applications, the 0.25-inch line boasts almost
the same strength—in a lighter, thinner form factor.
High Resolution
SecureTouch operates at 4096 x 4096 resolution—the highest in the industry. This
resolution allows developers flexibility in designing their application, without being
restricted to large, screen-consuming touch target.
Contamination Resistance
Keys, rings, and other sharp objects can scratch the surface of a touchscreen and
render some types useless. With SecureTouch, deep scratches as well as other types of
surface contamination are “programmed out” by the 2310 Serial Controller, making
it a robust performer in a variety of applications.

- Sealable against dust, splashing liquids, and other contaminants.
- Privacy filter available for applications involving sensitive information, such as ATM
transactions.
